the differee I was still getting 5k+2009-04-28As far as PvP goes...I reallyan't tell the differee. I was still getting 5k+ mutilates on plate, and still doing 15k damage inside of aS. PvE-wise, it's a noteable buff for mutilate. A fellow rogue was talking to me right before raid about reading a on EJ about dual + Evis(with the glyph ofourse) possibly outdamage -Deadly-Env. So I tried both on a few different eounters. Dual + Evis: Funnily enough, afterhking rount, Instant poison did more damag...
sie the 3 0 1 pah, I am unstealthing for no2009-04-28This is probably my own ignorae, but ever sie the 3.0.1 pah, I am unstealthing for no reason for standing behind a mage for longer then 3 sonds. Thisan be positioning myself behind them for a moment, while I rover energy from sap, oroming at them while they're firing aane missles. Nonetheless, I don't understand why this is happening. It doesn't put me inombat, so it's not like i'm taking damage. Has anyone else been experieing this?
And you're not getting a...
Wrath 1012009-04-13Continuing on from Grizzly Hills, we come a bit north to Zul'Drak, a zone that's apparently one giant troll city. I'm a big fan; some people don't seem to love it much, but presumably everyone needs to know how to get around, so let's get into the flight paths. All the hubs in Zul'Drak are neutral (generally Argent Crusade-aligned), meaning there's just one list for both Horde and Alliance.
1. Light's Breach is where you typically start in ZD. Danica Saint at 32,75 handles the air traffic there.
2. Ebon Breach is the starting point for what is (in my opinion) one of the best questlines in the zone. The flight master there is Baneflight, at 14,74. See what they did there? Baneflig...
Wrath delayed in China2009-04-13As excited as the Chinese community may be with the imminence of Wrath of the Lich King -- it was on the covers of most gaming magazines in the past months -- WoW players in China are going to have to wait just a bit longer for the latest expansion. According to a report, World of Warcraft China distributor The9 plan to delay the release of the expansion until March or April after initial plans to launch on February 19.
The delay would be due to a "policy supervision " and it's likely that the launch will come after the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), both of which happen on the first week of March....
YouPlayorWePay goes free with a new plan2009-04-13As promised, YouPlayorWePay has returned, and they've got a whole new plan in place. Originally, as we reported earlier, they wanted to create a site where players would pay a fee for the opportunity to get reimbursed for lost playtime in World of Warcraft, but after outcries from the community, they have outlined a whole slew of changes on the site.
And the biggest of these is that the service is now free. Instead of charging users, they plan to support a limited number of registrants (for March, when they begin, they're opening up 150 spots), and when downtime or queues occur for those registrants, they'll be given "YPOWP credits, " which apparent...
[1.Local]2009-04-13Don't be that guy
You are not prepared C but do you really need to be? Readers are of varying minds when it comes to how much preparation to expect (and even to demand) from fellow players in heroics and pickup raids.
"Whether you like the idea of being 'carried' or not, I don't see a problem with people diving right in on heroics, " notes Steve. "As many posters in this thread have demonstrated, if you know how to play your class, you can make up for being undergeared. ... I recognize that most of the folks out there in your PuGs will not be min/maxed or have ever heard of the Elitist Jerks site or have an optimal rotation. No worries -- I don't bothe...
[UPDATED] WoW Patch 3.1 shuts down the Iron Council2009-04-13After players got a taste of Hodir yesterday, Blizzard earlier opened up another Ulduar boss encounter on the Patch 3.1 PTR. The Iron Council were ready and waiting for raiders eager to have a shot at them -- and as you can see from the screenshot above, they don't look like pushovers. However, numerous crashes and related problems prevented full testing of the encounter, and Blizzard shut down Ulduar testing for the meantime. We had some of our team from WoW Insider who tried to take a crack at the Iron Council but were repelled by various iterations of server fail.
[UPDATE: According to some reports, well-known raiding guilds Death & Taxes, Method,...
Flintlocke creator moving to Blizzard2009-04-13Readers Geamo, Dice, and Leethax have written to let us know that Dave "Fargo " Kosak, co-founder of Gamespy and creator of the wildly popular "Flintlocke's Guide to Azeroth " and its Horde follow-up "Flintlocke vs. The Horde " is leaving for...Blizzard!
In his farewell message on Gamespy he says he'll be creating content for Blizzard games and World of Warcraft specifically (so be on the lookout, as he writes, for "quest instructions (shouted) at you in a very loud, very poor Scottish accent "). Kosak has been responsible for hearthstones being memorably described as "the chickenrock, " an explanation of aggro mechanics, The Five Stages of Warcraft, and the u...

Forming a new guild2009-04-13For a lot of new guilds the first step is the hardest. Most servers have plenty of established guilds that can offer better rewards to new members then a new guild, and anyone who isn't in a guild are generally a loner or so terrible no-one wants to touch them. This obviously limits your options for recruits, and standing in your factions capital spamming for new members for your raiding guild will not attract the best possible members you could find. The best solution to this problem is to start making friends with people before thinking about forming a guild. As a guild leader you need to be able to impress people with your skill and dedication, and the best way to do this and to scope out possible new members is to quest or run instances wi...
