The only melee wepon for hunter?

Up till now I have been using two handed swords because of the higher stats. I am a level 25 BE hunter and my sword has + 11 agility which I thought was pretty good. I would like to try using daggers and one handed swords for a change but can’t find any with stats anyway near my + 11 agility. What wepons do you more experienced hunters prefer? Staves look good, but I can’t seem to find any with much agility, they mostly seem to tailored more to Priests and Druids. With one handed swords I will get a faster attack speed but surely will lose a lot of damage on my Raptor Strikes. Are 2 handed swords really the only melee wepon for hunters? Thanks,I guess you have to “wing it” by watching happiness gains in combat log, as Theo suggested (this is if you’re trying to put pet to the “top” of happiness, which is what I think your post asked). You could also watch him turn from unhappy to neutral and how long it takes to get from to – then – assuming the happiness part is the same size (it probably is) – you could gauge it by the seconds you counted. You’ve seen his feeding icon, right – the one that means he’s gaining happiness? Click on the pet (have the pet icon activated) – and you’ll see it under the pet’s your combat log. It’ll tell you when he’s not gaining happiness An appearance of a god to a human; a divine manifestation. TheoWiki | PvP Forum Red Wings: 25 – 19 – 9Sorry if this has been asked before, but when I feed my pet and he becomes if I feed him again does this become stacked? Or am I just wasting my food. Also if it does become stacked, how much can I feed him before it is capped? Thanks in advance.-Scars remind us where we’ve been…….they don’t have to dictate where we’re going

That’s why some classes such as warriors, shammies and rogues have talents to improve hitting while duel wielding. Best reason to duel weild is because you have weaps that give you better stats (more agility, stam, ap, hit rating etc) than with a 2 hander you may have. But I’d go with a 2 hander anyways. my 2 cents. -Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Pet training points halted

Your pet’s talent points are calculated using this basic formula: (Loyalty level – 1) pet level So, essentially, if your pet is at max loyalty (level 6) then you minus one to get five and multiply that by its level (48)… This ends up as 240. Now subtract whatever points you’ve used to train abilities and armor for the pet. This will be where the points have gone. Two levels ago, using a pet level of 46, your total talent points (if unspent and assuming max loyalty level) would have been 230. Between those two levels there hasn’t been a large change. Have you spent any points in that time? Talent points don’t gather in infinite amounts, growing with each kill or level. Assuming loyalty level 6 and a pet of level 70, the talent points he will have (without anything trained) should equal 350. So, choose which abilities and buffs you want most for your pet because you’ll never be able to get everything. – Rorschach wrote:For my own part, regret nothing. Gruul’s Lair with out Hawk Eye?

The thing about Gruul is that you should have two Hunters or more. One for tanking Kiggler (or an Elemental Shaman, or Moonkin Druid, depending on your guild of course) and the rest is on Misdirection duties. In my guild, we usually get three Hunters in the raid, or even more for Gruul. One thing is certain, the Kiggler tank should not be on Misdirection duties, ever. I am usually the Maulgar/Olm misdirecter. I just stand at that point just straight ahead from Maulgar with the tank I’m MDing targetted. As we are ready to pull, our raidleader hits a 10 second pull countdown. I hit Misdirect at 5, the mage pulls on two, and I hit my instant shots at 0. Misdirecting AND tanking Kiggler is hard to pull off, and shouldn’t even be an option. Hell, if I’m out of range, I just run in just as the mage pulls. Everyone is aggroed anyway. Solution to your problems? Get more Hunters. -Friar Bijou wrote:ITT: NorthAI is a L?rd Kaolian wrote:We get some batsht insane people here on occasion.Okay, so today was my first time running Gruul’s without Hawk Eye. With that extra 6 yards, I was able to easily able to get into range for the High King pull. But when I tried to get into range, I aggro’d and wiped the raid (D’oh!) as soon as I got into range. Is there anyone else who doesn’t have Hawk Eye, but has found a place to stand? My roll on the High King fight is to tank/DPS Kiggler in the corner that he’s in. But if I can’t pull him at the same exact second when our mage pulls Krosh, he starts to run all over the place. after a few bad pulls, I started sending in my pet with Dash 3, but that’s just so hard to time right, and Kiggler 1 shots my pet. My guild does Gruul’s every week, so it’s really important for me to get situated for it. If there’s a place I can get into range without pulling, that’s awesome. If not, should I take a few points out of Mortal Shots, and put it back into Hawk eye? The smallest thing

Is usually all it takes to completely change the gameplay for me. I had a level 63 Dwarven Hunter on standby mode. Hadn’t been playing him since I got my Druid to level 70, really. Druids are just so much fun and the thought of playing my little Dwarf didn’t excite me. After much battleground playing on my Druid, I wanted to get a Hunter to level 70. I already had a level 63 Hunter, so the choice would seem obvious, but I didn’t feel like playing him. I wanted to make a NE Hunter, or even change faction for a Troll Hunter. I couldn’t understand why I didn’t feel like playing my Dwarf. After all, my only other Hunter is level 23. Took me some time, but then I found the problem. I felt I was undergeared. I had ~900 RAP and was dual-wielding those Honor Hold swords. It just felt.. wrong. So I brought over some gold from my Druid and went shopping in the Stormwind Auction House. My Dwarf got himself a nice pair of new pants and a polearm of the bandit. I’ve always been a sucker for two-handed weapons on Hunters. It just seems more right. Downside was that his polearms skill was 1/315. So I went grinding some skill-ups in Badlands. Oh my god. Dwarves look awesome when they fight with a polearm. They do the usual swings and then a one-handed thrust with the spear. It looks so awesome. Furthermore, his RAP is now over the 1k milestone, while it is an improvement of only 100 RAP, it feels better too. Feels more powerful. So he’s level 64 now and going strong. It’s odd how such a small thing as changing your weapon type and reaching a milestone can boost your excitement so much. Pointless thread, I guess, but just had to share. -We’re the descendants, salute the descendants, of King Canute. – Nephew Mazrah – Troll Shaman

Shadow resist gear for hunters

Yuppley wrote:The epic shadow resistance gear for the Mother Shahraz fight is great for hunters, and is BoE, or if you are a LW and have on guild on your server that is running BT or Hyjal, and are friendly with Ashtongue, you can craft it yourself. If you have the hearts of darkness which are really expensive on AH. On my server they cost somthing like 600-1000g a piece since most raids still need them for themselves. Thus if you can get access to a few hearts, go for this set. 3 pieces will bring you to your 150 unbuffed shadow resist. Since I don’t believe you have access to those things (otherwise you’d probably know about this gear), you might want to buy some shadow resist gear from the ah. Buy a ring and a headpiece with lots of shadow resist on it (some green gear, and apply a +20 shadow resist enchant on it). This should get you to ~70-80 shadow resist. Buy another 1-2 pieces of green gear and you have your basic shadow resist gear. Of course this will butcher your damage output, but that is always the case with shadow resist gear.-Hunter FAQ SW 6/6; Thori’dal, the Stars’ Fury more bag space since Oct 28 The epic shadow resistance gear for the Mother Shahraz fight is great for hunters, and is BoE, or if you are a LW and have on guild on your server that is running BT or Hyjal, and are friendly with Ashtongue, you can craft it yourself.I know this is kind of a situation post, my guild is stuck on the Hex Lord in ZA, and said I need at least 120 unbuffed Shadow Resist to fight the boss with them. My question is, what are good picks for Shadow Resist gear you use without butchering your DPS? I did a search for Shadow gear and Everything is crafted stuff, with +stamina only on it with the resist. Am I missing something, Or can I get away with only needing to switch out 3 maybe 4 pieces of gear?
