Time is precious these days. World of Warcraft is a very time consuming form of entertainment. Leveling your characters in this game is an especially arduous and less-than-entertaining task. I, having leveled numerous characters to that daunting level cap of 80, wish to give insight on becoming more efficient at what is generally considered more of a chore than actual entertainment. Don’t get me wrong, grinding endless hordes of monsters and completing mundane quests for imaginary people seems to make for a fun evening for many people. Personally, leveling is only enjoyable to me when I am blowing past it and onto the real meat of the game, which is the high end PvP and raids. Being at level cap is the ultimate goal of leveling your character, and the best way to begin is to get yourself a leveling addon from a popular addon site.
The Fateful Choice: Carbonite or QuestHelper
Seeing as how Carbonite is no longer under development at all, I would follow the link below and get the latest update of QuestHelper. This addon alone is more useful than any online resource and most of the people I know. It will automatically show all the objective locations on your map, find the shortest distance to travel to each in succession, and provide you with a nifty compass-esque arrow that will point you exactly where to travel in Azeroth. Slap this baby in your World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons folder and you’re on your way to level 80!
Now, it doesn’t mean you don’t have to use that lump of mush in your head just because this magical addon does all the navigation for you. Some general guidelines should be followed in addition to using QuestHelper.
